Heartworm Prevention

Heartworm prevention is an absolute must if you have a Schnoodle. Luckily, the test for heartworm can be administered at the same time your Schnoodle receives its rabies vaccination. Just set up an annual check-up for your Schnoodle to get both taken care of at the same time.

At this check-up, blood will be take for the heartworm test and the heartworm prevention pet meds will be given to you. The medication should be given to your Schnoodle the same time every month. Set up a reminder on a calendar so you don't forget. Fortunately, the medication comes in a chewy, nuget form now, resembling a treat (they used to be pills, which are not easy to give some dogs).
